Diesen Donnerstag besuchen uns Tenshun und Psychopop im Umbo, ein diy-Duo aus San Diego, das unter dem Namen SKRAPEZ sowohl als Musiker wie auch
als Label für gehörig Lärm sorgt. Letztes Jahr noch zusammen mit Gonja Sufi unterwegs, touren sie nun alleine für ein paar Konzerte durch Europa, ganz nach dem Motto "one foot in the grave yard, one foot in the train yard". Mit Synthies, Drummachine, Bass Station und einem Koffer voll Modularem verarbeiten sie Samples, Drums und Sounds zu einem wilden Mix aus Hiphop-Beats, Breakcore und Noise, immer schön Punk.
SKRAPEZ is a rebellious hip-hop duo originally hailing from San Diego. D.I.Y. almost to a fault, producers PSYCHOPOP & TENSHUN don't do the normal things most bands do, like maintain a Facebook page, record studio albums or curry favor with movers & shakers behind the scenes. Instead, they forge their own distinctly hellish path, terrorizing unsuspecting audiences with brash soundscapes, clanging breakbeats and vicious turntable scratches. Formed in the early 2000's, JONATHAN CALZO (Tenshun) & DAVID LAMPLEY (Psychopop) are essentially the missing link between San Diego's two noisiest punk and rap movements.
