Via App is an alias of Dylan Scheer - Brooklyn-based electronic producer and performer. They started hosting and playing shows, as well as releasing tapes under the moniker while still living in Boston. From there, they relocated to New York in 2014, and quickly became part of the city’s thriving experimental electronic scene. Their early live hardware sets were awarded recognition for their stark modes of sample manipulation and collage, their dynamic narrative compositions, and their refusal to adhere to any one genre. Via App collates samples of synthesised sounds into polyrhythmic, infectious grooves which are at the cusp of breaking at any given moment, unpredictably giving way to manic frenzy.
